Need photography classes!

Help! I have been trying as hard as I can to take pictures of basketball games...where I spend 95% of my time...but have yet to figure out how to catch anything but a blur! Major team camp going on right now...about to head out the door for yes my sixth game of the day...I will keep trying to capture the action but no one seems to want to stop in the middle of a fast break and pose for my pictures! If you have any suggestions, call me!

DL Colts make it to Championship game in tournament!

Grant's team made it all the way to the Championship game in a double elimination tournament this past weekend, only to lose their final game 11-10. It was probably one of the most fun baseball years we have had! This first picture is my personal favorite from the whole year. To see more of Grant and his team you can check them out in the DL Colts blog. Now that the season is over, what am I going to take pictures of?!

City of Chicago

Architectural Tour in May

Il Divo

While in Chicago, Mimi and I went to see Il Divo in concert! I tried to record while we were there, but I just couldn't capture the real beauty of their voices, so I have added one of their songs from the concert - previously recorded to YouTube - for you to listen to if you have never heard them. (Don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page and turn off the music player first.)

Mimi and Ronda go to Chicago!

Stay tuned for scenes from the architectural tour...scenes from the "shopping spree" cannot be shown in order to protect the guilty parties!

Garrett takes his "Final Walk"!

Fourth graders take their final walk around the elementary school as they will move on to the Middle School building for 5th grade. Music filled the halls as parents, students and teachers all came out to wish farewell and Good Luck to this years 4th grade class! Schools out for the summer!

Art Work by Carter...

Some of you may not know that Carter is, along with his many other talents, very artistic. Here is a picture of his most recent drawing...which I love!

You can never have too much basketball!

Since it seems to have rained every day for the past two weeks, we decided to take our game back indoors and spend the weekend at a basketball tournament at USBA. Both Garrett and Clint's teams participated (1 game Friday night, 7 games total on Saturday! and 2 Sunday), with Garrett and his team, the Fury, winning the championship in their 10/11 year old age bracket. Way to play G-dawg! Clint's team made it all the way to the championship game Sunday afternoon...winning with 6 seconds left to go, only to get beat by a last second 3-point shot.

8th Grade Blessing...

Each year at the end of Middle School, David Lipscomb holds a special service to celebrate and bless the eighth grade class as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. Faculty and parents give their blessings through scriptures, songs, prayers and favorite memories and present the class with certificates of graduation. After the service, Clint and his friends spent the evening eating dinner, watching a video of their years together and remembering all the fun they have had in Middle School!

To our Clint..."May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed." Psalm 20:4

High School Basketball Banquet

Last night was DL High School's Basketball Banquet. Players were recognized and memories of the season were recaptured. The team finished 26-7 overall. They were District Co-Champs, Region Champions, Sectional Champions, and made it to the State Elite 8 Tournament. It really was an exciting year with several last second buzzer-beaters, overtime victories, and even a 22-point comeback win in the playoffs! During the season Carter was named to the All-District Team, the All-District Tournament Team and the All-Region Tournament Team. We are so proud of him!

Middle School Field Day

You can always tell when the school year is winding down. Less time spent in the classroom and more time spent outside! One big event in Middle School is the annual field day, where each grade's classes compete against each other in challenging events such as the rubber chicken relay, the egg toss, the tug of war, and a grueling obstacle course just to name a few! This year, no surprise to Clint, his team, the Pied Pipers (since his home room teacher is Mrs. Piper!) took the top first place all around championship! Way to go Clint! (P.S. Snuck in a picture of this years girlfriend! Don't tell him I told you!)

Baseball, Baseball and more Baseball!

Ok, somebody forgot to tell me how many games baseball players have each week! And add to that both Garrett and Grant are on two separate teams, and I'm thinking about pitching a tent beside the baseball field! But we are having so much fun. So much fun, in fact, that I have made a blog just for Grant's baseball team! (Garrett has decided he wants to wait for "real" football next year for his team blog.) So check out DL Colts Baseball. Just click on the link in the right hand column under "Bloggity-Blog" and it will take you right to it. Clint is away in Washington, D.C. this week on his class trip, so hopefully he is taking tons of pictures I will be able to add. What are the chances of that?! And Carter and Scott have been away the past three weekends to AAU basketball tournaments. This coming weekend they are on their way to Knoxville. Unfortunately, Scott Sanderson is not walking around with a camera swinging from his neck, so we have no pictures from those adventures either! So for now, we will make due with more baseball. Grant's team is now wearing their official purple jerseys, so that does add some variety. Take me out to the ballgame!

My greatest blessings call me Mom!

Since I am usually the one behind the camera, you probably won't see many pictures of me. Some of you may be thinking that's a good thing! But since Carter took this one of me and Garrett at Easter I thought I would post it. May be the only time I make the blog! Several things I have discovered about blogging...Good things: I now have a spot to put all the pictures I take, and I don't have to worry about mailing any! (You all know how good I am about mailing things to you!) Bad things: Now I feel like I have to keep it updated all the time, and Clint has started calling me the "papparatzi"! Hard to get him in a picture since he's always hiding from me! Another bad thing...makes me want to plan trips so we will have something to post! Since the blogs debut, I have added several new posts. I found the cutest pictures of a fishing trip I took Garrett and Grant on with my nephews Everett and Ethan. It was a little over a year ago, but they were so cute I couldn't resist adding them. So, if you are visiting again and the site appears the same, scroll down and browse awhile. You may find something new!

The REAL big one got away!

Happy Easter from Garrett and Grant

To our family and friends...The real secret of happiness is not what you give or what you receive; it's what you share. Thanks for letting us share our lives with you and for sharing your lives with us! Happy Easter.
