Summer with the Sanderson's means basketball camp!
While Grant has been off adding a new sport to his repertoire, the rest of the Sanderson's are still busy improving their basketball skills. This week, my nephew Mason has come from Lubbock to hang out with Clint and Garrett at Lipscomb's basketball camp. Think Mason is hoping his height of about 6'3' at the age of 13 will come in handy! Mimi has come up this week too so she can see all the boys in action.
Meanwhile, down the boulevard, Carter and the Lipscomb High School team are participating in Belmont's team camp. You all know I love nothing better than to be able to watch my boys...however...if I don't get out of the gym soon I am going to have to rename my blog. The new title?...The Bleacher Butt Blog"!

A new appreciation for Tattoos!
Magic Powers...
Sometimes the most short and innocent conversations with children can really hit home. I wanted to share with you just one of those kinds of conversations that Grant and I had while driving in the car today...
Grant: Hey Mom...
Mom: Yea?
Grant: If I could have magic powers, do you know which one I would pick?
Mom: Which one?
Grant: "Mcreary, time reary"...that's the one where you can turn back time...that way, every time you mess up...you can go back and fix it.
I don't know exactly what he was wishing he could go back and fix, but don't we all wish we had that power too!

Tennessee Titans come to Football camp!
This week, Grant went with one of his good buddies Rush Lansdell to football camp at Nashville Christian School. In addition to all the great instruction on the game of football, they had a special treat today when two of the Tennessee Titans football players came to hang out and sign autographs...#48 Casey Cramer from Dartmouth and #31 Cortland Finnegan from Samford. A big thank you to Rush's dad Charlie - Head Football Coach at Nashville Christian - for treating Grant to a super week of football!

CMA 2009 Music Fest @ LP Field
Carter, Aaron and I on the stage before the show...Not a very good picture, I know. But we had so much fun being up there I just had to post it. The stage is actually huge, and Carter somehow managed to "pick up" one of Josh Turners guitar picks while we were up there! We were snapping pictures before the concert, actually my first time on the field.

Three sons...and a friend!
The boys and Scott and I ate at Barbara's Home Cooking tonight...great meat and three on Old Hillsboro Road with yummy food if you haven't tried it yet! We were on our way to watch Garrett play ball, who had already gone off with some of his team. Of course we can't travel with less than four, so we added Grant's friend Ben Craig!

Nothing better than a pool in the summer time!

Not everybody feels the need to be in a gym all summer long! Grant has the right idea as he and his friends Ben and Gracie are keeping it cool in the pool! (Of course I had to be there to keep an eye on them!) This picture was taken on my cell phone - which had just been to the bottom of the pool the day before! Second phone in less than a month that I have tried to drown one way or another. This one seems to be a little more water proof than the first! But since the picture taking seems a little blurry and the light has gone out on the screen I think I am going to have to sneak over to T-Mobile and buy another one! Maybe it's time to buy a little phone insurance!
The agony of defeat!
While Clint was happily celebrating his victory on Sunday, by Monday night the outcome was not as bright for Garrett and his summer league team The Fury. You can see the look of frustration on both Garrett's face and the faces of their fans on the bench! (Is that the look of frustration on Scott and Phil's face? or total boredom!)

Garrett Hoops it up!
I am determined to figure out how to take good basketball pictures! Garrett says the reason they are turning out so blurry is because the boys are all so fast! Hmmm...I'm still thinking it might be the photographer!
Tournament Champs!
Clint and his summer AAU team played in their fifth tournament this weekend making it all the way to the championship game Sunday afternoon with a hard fought win to become tournament champs! Clint and his Middle School team had also been in Lipscomb's team camp since Wednesday which made this Sunday's game their 13th in five days! Think they could use a break? Nope! Straight to a two day, six game team camp in Franklin on Monday and Tuesday! Good thing we LOVE basketball!

Need photography classes!
Help! I have been trying as hard as I can to take pictures of basketball games...where I spend 95% of my time...but have yet to figure out how to catch anything but a blur! Major team camp going on right now...about to head out the door for yes my sixth game of the day...I will keep trying to capture the action but no one seems to want to stop in the middle of a fast break and pose for my pictures! If you have any suggestions, call me!
